While I am a mental health professional, I am a human first, and I understand that change is hard and it is often uncomfortable. What I love most about my work with the individuals, couples, families, and organizations I have joined with over the past two and a half decades is witnessing their courage and resilience as they question old patterns and try out new ones. I believe we can only take these steps when we feel safe enough to take the risk of leaving our comfort zone. I strive to create a collaborative, affirming, and secure environment for everyone who dares to look deeper at their life and heal. I won't promise it will be easy, but the freedom and growth that can happen are worth it.
I aim to balance connection, humour, and authenticity with evidence- based and trauma - informed approaches that take into account your unique needs. I have advanced training in EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), emotion-focused and developmental couples therapy, sex therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mediation and conflict resolution, and family systems therapy. I am also a certified yoga teacher and incorporate mindfulness regularly.
My qualifications include Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Social Work (with a Clinical Counselling Specialization), as well as a Master’s Certificate in Public Management. I am an approved provider with Health Canada’s First Nations and Inuit Health Branch and I work to practice cultural humility and engage in reconciliation. I am trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and facilitate crisis response for first responders and other workplaces.
My areas of specialization include:
